About Thomas Schwabenbauer

Dr. Schwabenbauer is board certified in Osteopathic Neuromuscular Medicine. He specializes in
all osteopathic modalities for patients of all areas and pain levels. He has had specialized
training in Osteopathic Cranial Manipulation, Biodynamics approach of Osteopathy in the
Cranial Field, Fascial Distortion Model, Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment (OMT) for acute
and chronic pain and Ultrasound guided imaging and injections.


Dr. Schwabenbauer grew up in rural Western Pennsylvania. Upon graduating from Mercersburg
Academy, he was accepted into the United States Naval Academy, in Annapolis, Maryland.
During this time, he was a member of the wrestling team and earned a B.S. in Mechanical
Engineering.


After finishing his undergrad, Dr. Schwabenbauer was commissioned into the United States
Marines Corps. He spent time in both Iraq and Afghanistan serving as an Infantry Officer. After
eight years, he left the Marines and went back to school at the University of Virginia’s Post-Bac
Pre-Med program in Charlottesville, Virginia. He went on to graduate from the West Virginia
School of Osteopathic Medicine, in Lewisburg, West Virginia.


Dr. Schwabenbauer attended residency at Las Cruces, New Mexico. While in residency he
served as chief resident, worked in all areas of the hospital at the Mountainview Regional
Medical Center, and completed residency training in Osteopathic Neuromusculoskeletal
Medicine (ONM). While in residency he also served as an adjunct professor for the ONM
department at the Burrell College of Osteopathic Medicine.
In his spare time, Dr. Schwabenbauer enjoys cooking for his wife and spending time outdoors,
hiking, biking, and camping.
