Dr. Bryan Hawkins, D.O.
Dr. Hawkins graduated from the New England College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2006. He is board certified in Family Medicine and Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine, a new specialty that fewer than 600 physicians throughout the U.S. have achieved. He has had the opportunity to work with many of the country's leading physicians on the cutting edge of the newest and least invasive approaches to the treatment of joints, muscles, spine, nerves, and fascia dysfunction and pain syndromes.
His philosophy of health care is anchored by his "'hands-on" Osteopathic Manipulative Therapy and utilization of unique technologies to restore function and reduce or eliminate pain without the chronic use of drugs or surgery. Dr. Hawkins takes a "whole person" approach to medicine. Instead of just treating specific symptoms or illnesses, he considers your body as an integrated whole. Dr. Hawkins completed an extensive fellowship training program in neuromusculoskeletal medicine at Downey Regional Medical Center.
He is uniquely trained as an osteopathic physician to be able to evaluate and treat your specific musculoskeletal complaint by using not just conventional treatments but by also using cutting-edge, state-of-the-art therapies and osteopathic manipulation treatments.
It is extremely rare to find a physician like Dr. Hawkins who has the skill set and can provide such a vast array of nonsurgical orthopedic treatments. He is truly unique.
Dr. Hawkins is a San Diego County native who grew up in Lakeside. He comes from a family of five siblings, four brothers and one sister. I enjoy using all the tools at my disposal-ultrasound and electromyogram for proper diagnosis, injections (including regenerative medicine techniques such as platelet rich plasma injections and prolotherapy injections for joints, ligaments, and tendons), nerve blocks, osteopathic manipulation, proper nutrition for healing, physical therapy, exercise, proper flexibility, they all play an important role for achieving maximum health, strength, flexibility, that is conducive for a happy, enjoyable and productive life. It is also important to have a compassionate understanding of how loss of function and pain affects an individual’s daily life, and to have an understanding of the emotional aspect of pain.”

Amanda Smith
Amanda has always had a desire to help people anyway she could. After working in the front office of a medical corporation, she realized that the medical field was how she wanted to help people. She then attended college to become a medical assistant and graduate with honors.
Once she had her diploma, she got into musculoskeletal medicine and fell in love with that particular field. Working beside the doctor she learned how to operate and read a musculoskeletal ultrasound as well as assist in injections using the ultrasound machine. Amanda loves knowing that what she does makes patients be able to get back to activities they love doing in life.
In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends as well as watching sports or reading a nice book. Amanda has found the perfect career path for herself and enjoys every minute of it.
